I’m already preparing for my Aberdeen book launch and presentation – 7 p.m. on Wednesday 12th November 2014 at Waterstones Union Bridge Bookshop. I hope lots of folk will accept my invitation to come along and hear more about all the people I’ve met and their personal real-life stories of being family carers – which form the most important part of ‘Surviving Family Care Giving’.
Rather than being about any particular illness or condition, this book is about HOW To build good 24/365 communication in a home situation to ensure the best possible all-round care for the person at the centre of all efforts – without coordinated efforts, without effective communication and collaboration between all involved in that care, unfortunately all too often the result will be scattergun hit-or-miss care.
With chapters including Challenging Behaviour, Family Teamwork – How? Motivation, Information and Resources, and Carer Survival, I hope this book will provide much-needed support for all family and other home carers whatever their own circumstances.
