In 2006, along with Eric van Furth from the Netherlands, I helped to launch the Worldwide Charter for Action on Eating Disorders at International Conference for Eating Disorders (ICED) Barcelona where over 900 delegates representing countries all over the world.  I spoke to people from Japan, Australia, Canada, France, USA, UK…. Awareness is now growing about how it is possible to create much more effective care and all-round support by building professional/family coordinated teamwork.

Awareness is also growing that fragmented care, where even the best of professional support towards motivation and positive change can be much more effective if family and other informal caregivers have appropriate information on common behaviours and how best to respond, what to try to avoid…
