Based in north east Scotland, as a child I loved words and playing with language – often to describe drawings and paintings.
At a later stage, I enjoyed working in education, spending my final ten happy – and hardwork! – years at Fyvie Primary School. Throughout all those years I wrote many stories and plays for children including Johnnie McGory stories based on long ago tales my father told, and The Cautionary Tale of Willie Weevil.
I enjoyed writing many educational materials, co-wrote and presented educational courses in Language and Environmental Studies for Grampian Region, as well as being co-author of the educational pack ‘Fyvie Castle – it’s Life and Legends’ published by Aberdeenshire Council and National Trust 1997.
In 1997 I left teaching to concentrate on writing. I’ve continued to write stories for adults and children, poetry and plays, many of them published in magazines and anthologies, as well as non-fiction.
